The Shakers developed their own system of musical notation, composed over 10,000 works of music, and even invented (in 1871) a new instrument called the piano-violin. However, only one original Shaker music stand is know to exist. We have designed a music stand which can be used while seated or standing. It adjusts in height from 41" to 54". The tilt of the music rest adjusts into any of three positions. Solid clear Pennsylvania cherry. Sold in our "Aged Cherry" finish with low luster lacquer. Desk measures 17 3/4" x 11 1/2" high.
